Fashion + Decor = Falling for Autumn Palettes
I'm always a bit intrigued with how our fashion and decor themes inspire each other so I thought I'd mix it up today. Do you remember the fashion image above? The luxurious camel cashmere sweater, layered and chunky gold accents and a boldly textured leather bag -- this was one of the first images I pinned on my "fall fashion" pinterest boards several years ago. I always appreciate a little shine in a color scheme like the vase on the mantle.
Shades of camel, gold, caramel, chocolate, latte and coffee.....
this autumn palette sounds luxurious (and delicious).
This toasted pumpkin sweater comes to life with the camel and gold scarf. A primarily neutral decor palette is treated to splashes of bold color. It's all about layering the textures and shades of this complimentary palette.
I can never get enough of bold jewel tones like this emerald and gold combination. This palette is also an incredibly sophisticated look for interiors similar the Kelly Wearstler palette I spotted at the Viceroy Santa Monica.
Wine tones pair beautifully with neutrals -- pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, shiraz, merlot, sangiovese -- as well as cheese.
Did I mention the autumn palette is delicious?
I'm always attracted to a dark, smokey wall. I've only been brave enough to pull it off once -- in the powder room. Both looks are simply chic.
