Goodbye Summer.....I'll miss you!
Welcome to the weekend. It's the final weekend of the summer since fall starts on Sunday. With the fevered pitch of my mom and Hal's wedding, followed by our 13th wedding anniversary and Lauren's birthday (all within a week), I feel like we have been living one big celebration.
Cheers to that!!
Briana and Lauren-the birthday girl! (2 of my 3 step-daughters)
On tap this weekend, the last one of summer, we have a dinner party planned at our house for Saturday night. I was looking forward to a warm, casual evening on the terrace (under the stars) poolside and some easy breezy grilling by Scott.
In this scenario the setting and the view are really the star.
But plans can change........
Following months of hot, blistering days, and warm beautiful evenings (with nary a trace of rain), this is the forecast for Saturday.
A sudden drop in temps, wind and rain. Believe me I've been watching that crazy forecast
all week and the rain hasn't budged.
I'm off to spruce up the dining room a bit for the dinner party, just in case. It hasn't been used in months.
Summer is winding down but I'm hoping for a few more good weeks of fresh produce
from our local Chico Farmer's Market.
Finally, I've been meaning to share this tip for one of my favorite fragrances, Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. It smells like a splash of summertime on the Italian Riviera in a bottle. Tunisian neroli, Italian bergamot, Sicilian lemon, orange flower and lavender create the perfect blend of citrusy and spicy. The fragrance is pricey, and though it is my current favorite scent, I couldn't justify it.
Last month I discovered the body oil and find it to be a lovely way to get this coveted fragrance, and the silkening properties of a body oil, in one. Just a few drops is all you'll need. Another good option is the body moisturizer.
