During my recent trip to San Francisco with blogger friends, Adrienne Rich Life (on a budget) and
Kim Northern California Style, I enjoyed some memorable makeup moments at Neiman Marcus.
It's fun to play with the shading, colors and fragrances, especially with friends who can share ideas and give feedback.
I discovered my new Tom Ford fragrance for cooler months: Jardin Noir Jonquille De Nuit Eau De Parfum
Try a mini version here.
Adrienne had her makeup done by Fernando at Armani.
It's fun when the end result is so dramatic-POW! In the end Adrienne didn't keep the
bold lipstick but exchanged it for something more neutral to wear for daytime.
Kim and I went for the less dramatic lip look in a peachy shade created by Tiffany.
Tiffany was generous to give us multiple samples of Armani skin care and Tom Ford fragrances.
I was impressed with this Eyes to Kill mascara sample. The brush is a good size and it doesn't clump or flake on me during the day.
We all liked the Armani Luminous foundation and purchased it (the subtly luminous look adds a little glow to dull winter skin).
I've noticed some of us have been dancing on the edges of the
and it's definitely a hot look for the holiday season.
I previously blogged about my 'fear of the bold lip' yet recently I've been trying to break out of that mold.
Earlier this month I was invited to an 'Enchanted Holiday' at my favorite
salon/spa Mecca in Chico. Claudia and the ladies make it a wonderful event to welcome
in the season. When I heard they were offering free make up sessions I signed up.
Danielle and I decided it would be fun to try a bold red lip. My lips are fairly full so I often feel like 'lip' is all you see if my lipstick is too bright. Danielle said it's all about the 'shade'. She tried more of a blue/red shade on my skin rather than an orangey yellow based hue.
Despite the grainy photo it's definitely a bold look and I think
it will be fun for a holiday party or two this season
(rather than on a Monday night exhausted after a long work day ;).
I invited my step-daughter Briana to join me at Mecca for the session.
Danielle created a fresh, pretty look for Briana which paired beautifully with her coral blouse.
Girlfriends-it's so much fun to 'make-up' together isn't it?
