Wine Country Favorites

It was a quick weekend getaway to wine country for us and we made the most out of every minute.  Here is a quick peek at a few of our favorites in Napa and Sonoma Valleys through instagram.

Our first stop was Solbar, at Solage in Calistoga  here with a welcoming, shady terrace for lunch. Looking over this fabulous pool makes it one of my favorite spots in the entire valley. The views, the impeccable service (thank you Ken) paired with the foodie offerings. On the menu we discovered a divine summer salad of fresh peach, parmesan mousseline (a version of chantilly sauce), with arugula. The crusty, tomato encrusted bruschetta and a crisp sauvignon blanc added the perfect finish.

Then we were off for a little touring and tasting with some of our nearest and dearest friends (the girlfriends I met in graduate school and have held on tightly ever since).

Friends Wine Tasting at Stylemindchic Life

Our afternoon was spent touring and tasting. There is such rich history in the area. (Thank you Kathryn and Dean for setting us up!)

Our handsome guys-I called them 'Miami Vice' of the wine country.

I wore this little DVF number and received a lovely compliment. The woman commented on my top and said, "DVF sure knows how to dress a woman's body". I say "Go DVF" (I'm totally having a designer crush on her right now anyway)!

Our dinner, at the Applewood Restaurant here, was 5 star dining on the Russian River edge of the wine country. Our meals were beautifully prepared and superb. I focused on the fun and friends so I neglected to take any photos-you know that kind of evening?

Wonderful!! #absorbed

The next day began with a morning stroll through grapevines, laden with ripening fruit, in Kenwood. It is clear from this instagram photo that crush season has nearly arrived in wine country. A deep breath, vistas of  beauty and then we were off to Sonoma for lunch.

A lunchtime favorite in Sonoma is El Dorado Kitchen here.

As you can see I have a penchant for outdoor dining, especially when the weather is beautiful.

Perfect weather-the strawberry, baby greens salad, with chicken and goat cheese-

embellished by friendly, created  lovely luncheon fare.

We found a new favorite spot....and met another wine country favorite.
